Good morning
The Events of last night and the jobs number this morning could set the tone for todays trading as the markets continue to struggle with who really wants to take control.
Will it be the bears or will it be the bulls? The bulls have been doing a decent job of fending off the bears this week with the markets having plenty of reasons to give us pullback. Global tensions, an administration that appears unable to fulfill campaign promises, lofty valuations across the board for stocks and a general belief that the markets are due for a significant correction.
After last nights decision to deliver a few bombs over to Syria without a return address gold is getting a spike this morning and it appears to be creating more of a divide with Russia creating escalating global tensions. The markets are actually holding up better than I would have expected.
I continually preach not to chase anything and it is even more important when we have events like this take place. Let the markets absorb the news and settle before jumping in with both feet. Don't get overly aggressive with positions because you think you know what is going to happen. GLD JNUG NUGT TZA TVIX UVXY SPXS worth watching for day trades if the markets and the dollar continues to weaken.
The jobs number came in pretty weak and that could embolden the bears so be prepared for a potentially wild day.
Have a plan that will allow you to ease your way into the position you want to take and keep the size appropriate to the risk of the trade.
