Good morning
This week has been fairly volatile as concerns of inflation and the amount of potential interest rate hikes have weighed on investors minds. Those concerns may be put to rest today once Jerome Powell (the new Fed chair) releases his monetary policy report later today which will serve as the blueprint for his testimony before congress next week. We could get a glimmer of what the pace of interest rate hikes may look like and what his plans are for the the Fed and transparency.
Warren Buffet hosts his annual shareholder meeting this weekend releasing his annual letter and he will be appearing on CNBC Monday for three hours. This could be another event that will impact the markets next week as we get the thoughts from one of the most successful investors in history.
Equities are gapping up this morning. We have seen strength in the morning and then a fade mid day or into the close all this week. Do not chase the gap up look for clean intra day setups.
