In honor of a true friend and one of AWT's most loyal members James Carbeck aka A1... this is for you!

Hello everyone
It has been awhile since I have posted a free stocks to watch video. I used to send out free videos every week consistently for a couple years.

One of the things I love about this business is the people I have had the pleasure to meet that share my passion for trading/investing in stocks. Some of those people came from the free videos I used put out and James Carbeck who went by the handle @a1jc_1 on twitter was one of them. It was just over 7 years ago when A1 reached out to me either through TickerTV or Stocktwits. He was new to trading and eager to learn and he would participate in my live events or send me comments or questions after watching my recorded videos. It was clear to me that he was passionate about stocks and he had a burning desire to put in the time and work that it would take to achieve his goals.

When I officially started AWT just over 4 years ago A1 was one of my very first members. We spent 8-12 hours a day, 5 days a week together in various chat rooms that I experimented with for the AWT service over those years. That gave A1 and myself an opportunity to develop a meaningful friendship that I will always treasure. I am so grateful that we shared that time together.

Sadly, on Thursday last week, I was informed by a family member that A1 passed away on September 11th.

AWT has a small group of members and that has allowed me to have an open mic forum for everyone that feels comfortable to share ideas, and ask questions so that we can all learn from one another. A byproduct of the open forum is that it gives me and everyone in the room an opportunity to really get to know one another on a personal level even though we are thousands of miles apart and I love it.

A1 lived in Buffalo, and he was a die hard Buffalo Bills fan. He and I had a special connection with me being a die hard Cleveland Browns fan. Both of our teams have sucked for a long time..lol We would often share stories of how miserable and painful it was being a fan to our losing teams. Yet every year we remained loyal and had high expectations for the new season. Hockey was A1's favorite sport and one that I did not really follow until the Golden Knights came to Vegas. A1 would share video's of great hockey moments with me and helped fuel my interest in the sport.

A1 had a terrific sense of humor and on the days where it is better to sit on your hands than try to force a losing trade A1 often found a way to entertain the room. One of his other passions was music...he LOVED all types of music and would share videos and make reference to artists and songs whenever there was an opportunity to link music to a comment or event that took place in the room.

He was extremely smart and a very hard worker. There were times when I would log into the room either late at night or very early in the morning and he would be in the room rocking out and charting. He really loved charing stocks, looking for setups and he had become extremely good at it. I watched him develop his technical skills and as a trader/investor each year he got better. I watched as he became more patient, developed clear trading plans and became more disciplined leading to better results and consistency. He shared with the group recently that he was having a phenomenal year, far surpassing his own expectations. Yet, he was always very humble and tended not to give himself the credit that he deserved for how far he progressed. He was always willing to share anything he discovered that he felt may help the other members and myself become better traders and investors.

I have a log of posts that A1 sent to the room and to me privately. I will keep them and cherish them for as long as I am on this planet. I went through many of them yesterday/this morning just reflecting on our history together. As I went through them I laughed out loud many times and I also got choked up because my friend A1 won't be sending any more posts.

I would be remiss if I did not mention what was clearly most important to A1 and the shining star in his life. His daughter Katherine, whenever A1 spoke about Katherine (which was quite often) I could sense the amount of pride and joy he felt. Without question, he was a proud father that deeply loved his daughter.

I won't be getting any more charts from A1 asking what I think...or him telling me where he thinks the support and resistance levels are... there won't be any more articles that he thinks I should read or websites I should check out to research stocks. There won't be any more messages about a potential catalyst that he thinks may move a stock or the markets. There won't be any more jokes from A1 that made me laugh so hard it brought tears to my eyes, no more songs to listen to together or conversations to have about our families. I wont be able to talk with A1 about how our Bills and Browns finally have winning records this year. I will always think of A1 whenever I see the Buffalo Bills.

It breaks my heart and there is now a void in my life. I am going to miss A1 so much! He was a genuine friend with a huge heart, a quick wit, and a passion for knowledge. He was my brother.. he was family!

I can only take comfort in my belief that heaven is a place where we go and get to do what we love and are passionate about for all of eternity. Reunited and surrounded by the people/pets that we loved and respected and had taken from us at different points throughout our lives.

If that is the case. I believe A1 is looking down on us and I can picture him hanging out with a bunch or rock stars like Eddie Van Halen, David Bowie, Tom Petty, Freddie Mercury, Jimmy Hendrix, Randy Rhodes and Janice Joplin. Listening to music, watching football, telling jokes, charting stocks and watching over his daughter beaming with pride.

I hope that A1 can somehow see this post and know just how much he was loved and how much he will be missed.

Rock on my brother! I love ya man and I look forward to our paths crossing again in the future.
